With temperatures starting to drop, kids are having to put more and more clothes on. This provides easy learning opportunities that can be done within your daily routine. You can talk with your child about what we wear when it’s winter time. Ask your child how that’s different from what we wear in the summer time. You can be more specific and compare/contrast specific clothing items (boots/sandals, winter hat/baseball cap, etc). You can also ask your child why we wear warmer clothes in the winter. Ask them what they think would happen if we didn’t wear these clothes when it’s cold. Incorporating these language activities into your child’s routine will be so natural that your child won’t even know they are learning!
